SAN DIEGO SCHOLASTIC CHESS
Dearest San Diego Scholastic Chess Families,
We would like to share an important update with you. The October 19th Scholastic Tournament will be the final SDCC Scholastic event of 2025.
Starting in 2026, we plan to shift our focus from organizing tournaments to teaching and community outreach. We will also continue to hold online events, including both free arenas and USCF-rated tournaments with prizes.
As far as large scholastic tournaments, we do not yet have any plans for 2026, though it is possible that we may host some community outreach events (scholastic meetups) and special invitational tournaments at the club (TBD).
At the same time, we remain fully committed to hosting the 3rd Annual San Diego High School Team Championship in January at the club, continuing this wonderful tradition. High school players from across Southern California have already begun preparing for this exciting event.
We are deeply grateful for your support of our scholastic tournaments and look forward to continuing to serve the chess community through education, outreach & online events.
